Superplate: YUCC outclass UCC as TCMDC beat CDCC by 1 wicket

The MNCA Superplate Tournament on Sunday saw YUCC clinch a 93-run win over UCC while TCMDC overcame CDCC by one wicket.
In their Group B match against UCC at Cherapur in Thoubal, YUCC opted to bat and got dismissed for 157 in 34 overs.
Decent contributions from Laishram Bidyashwor (38), Ningtoujam Thoiba (27), Ningthoujam Rohit (161, Ningthoujam Sanjit (15), Kadamjit Moirangthem (13) helped YUCC crosS the 150-run mark in their innings.
For UCC, the trio of Leis-hangthem Bishorjit, Bicky Kumar Das and Konsam Gulson Singh bowled well to equally share nine wickets between them.
A brilliant bowling effort saw YUCC wipe out UCC's batting lineup in 19 overs for a paltry 64 .
It was Khundrakpam Pun-shiba who led the lethal YUCC attack claiming four wickets in his five-over spell.
Ningthou-jam Sanjit and Kadamjit Moirangthem snapped two wickets apiece, with Rahulkumar Ningthoujam chipping in with one in their side's dominant win.
For UCC, Moirangthem Satish (13) was the lone batter who could score in double digits.
Khundrakpam Punshiba earned the man of the match trophy for his four wickets and 8 runs.
TCMDC, meanwhile, overcame a batting collapse to chase down a 164 run target against CDCC in a Group A match at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
TCMDC bowled out CDCC in 38.5 overs for 163 after the latter elected to the bat.
CDCC had a good start with their openers Thounaojam Rakesh (34) and Priyojit Narengbam (32) contributing 66 combined.
After the duo's dismissal, Khurshid Alam (24), Kshetrimayum Robert (18) and Viking Salam (18) were the only notable batters as the rest failed to perform.
Rain Urikhimbam finished with three scalps as Kong-brailatpam Kalyan Sharma and Huirongbam Babulu took two each, and Laishram Vivekananda and Thongam Tuljit bagged one apiece for TCMDC.
In their response, TCMDC were in dire straits at 42 for 5 halfway through their run chase before efforts by Huirongbam Babulu (26), Leihaothabam Tondon (24), Kirankumar Saikia (16), N Arbin (14 not out) and Suraj Kharibam helped their team complete the target in 37.1 overs with one wicket to spare.
Earlier, opener Asho-kumar Maibam was dismissed for 19 while his partner Kongbrailatpam Kalyan fell 10.On the other hand, Rain Urikhibam, who came at No 3, scored 11, Laishram Vivekananda was bowled out for a duck and Sarangthem Priyobrata managed just 2 .
Three of TCMDC's wickets fell prey to Mutum Jodiba, two to Asif and one each to Rajkumar Robindro and Ngan-gom Rajesh.
Huirongbam Babulu was named the man of the match for his two wickets and 26 runs.
