According to a statement, the initiative was carried out under the guidance of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) .
The function was graced by Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, president, AMUCO as the chief guest; Dr Ph Bharti, Assistant Professor, JNIMS, Ophthalmology Department and Takhellambam Dwijo, president, Imphal East District United Clubs' Organisation (IEDUCO) as the guest of honour and Sh Nisosel Kharam, Chief, Tuisenphai village as the functional president.
Speaking on the occasion, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang pointed out the large number of visually impaired people in the State cannot seek treatment due to unstable financial conditions.

He also called upon the Government departments to collaborate with local CSOs and organize free medical health camps all across the State frequently.
"If doctors and medical staff of the State go around Manipur, in both hill and valley regions, it will promote humanism among the medical fraternity and also improve the relations between the villagers and the doctors", he opined.
He maintained that if the aforementioned steps are carried out, they will help people to live together in harmony and promote development.
At today's free eye camp, around 60 people got their eyes checked out, with another 30 receiving free spectacles suited to their needs.
The statement also highlighted the contribution of Dr Khumukcham Lokeshwor, Superintendent, JNIMS in making the free eye camp programme, which launched on April 2, possible.
