Repertory of Waree Leeba sets up branch at Barak Valley

As a part of the initiative launched by the Repertory of Waree Leeba, Manipur to promote the unique narrative art form of the State, a branch of the organisation was opened at Barak Valley, Assam on April 7 .
According to a statement issued by the Repertory of Waree Leeba, Manipur, the branch was established at the Barak Museum & Library at Bon Tarapur under Cachar district in Barak Valley.
The function was attended by renowned 'Waree Leeba' artist Hajarimayum Shyamkishor Sharma from Cachar and witnessed the constitution of an executive committee comprising 11 members.
It is worth noting that Hajarimayum Shyamkishor Sharma was appointed as the president, Thounaojam Hembabu from Bon Tarapur as the general secretary and Laitonjam Babahan Singha as the treasurer of the newly constituted executive committee of the Barak Valley branch.
The statement further shared that Barak Valley Branch, Manipur Dance Academy Bon Tarapur and Barak Musuem & Library under the supervision of Repertory of Waree Leeba Manipur will organise a 'Waree Leeba Festival' from April 19 to 23 at Bon Tarapur and Barak Musuem & Library Complex.
