ESU, PCC register comprehensive victories in 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

ESU-Wangkhei Palace Compound and PCC-Mayaikoibi were able to register comprehensive victories in today's matches of the 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
In a Group A match staged at PCC Ground in Mayaikoibi, ESU notched up a 9 wicket win after bowling out PTCC-Patsoi Part III for 152 runs within 16.4 overs.
Dhirendrakishore scored the highest 40 runs off 21 and Somobanta added 33 off 24 balls to give PTCC some stability in the beginning after losing N Robertson for 1 in the second over to Venus Soibam but their departure led to the batting implode and eventually succumbed for a total of 152.

Hanjabam Donba Sharma was best bowler ESU got as he picked three crucial wickets for 39 runs in his spell of 9 overs while Thokchom Simesh picked two wickets.
Nandeibam Salaingamba and Soibam Sayonba also picked up a wicket each expedite the batting collapse.
In reply, ESU lost H Donba for 4 in the second delivery, but Soibam Venus who came in for Donba was at his fluent best and scored an unbeaten 78 off 9 fours and 4 sixes in 38 balls to steer ESU to winning 154 within 8.4 overs with Soibam Sayonba (38 not out in 23 balls) .
Eventually, Soibam Venus of ESU walked away with the man of the match accolade.
Elsewhere at PTRC Ground, PCC-Mayaikoibi opened their Group B winning account in two matches with an 8 wicket win against MPA-Thounaojam.
Despite getting 48 runs extra, MPA who elected to bat first were able to add 153 runs for 8 wickets in allotted 30 overs but the total proved too small for PCC who reached the target in just 24.4 overs with 8 wickets left in the hand.
For MPA, Chinglensana (30) and Soram Dayananda (33) were the leading run scorer as Parvin Kumar of PCC grabbed four wickets for 10 runs in 6 overs and Pebam Yoimayai managed two wickets.
In reply, PCC lost Mathurabashimayum Pravesh (7) to Suraj Mutum and Dilshan (43) to Chinglensana before Parvin Kumar (49 not out) and Gopinath Lourang-bam (13 not out) fired PCC to winning 155 in 24.4 overs.
Parvin Kumar of PCC who produced an all round performance was adjudged man of the match.
