Imphal, November 24 2017:
Kalalong Youth Club (KYC), Bishnupur have vehemently condemned the 'unfair judgement' of the Or-ganizing Committee of the 11th Jadonang Football Tournament 2017 with regard to complaints against violation of certain rules and regulations.
In a statement, KYC said that on November 11, a match was played between KYC and Sawombung Sairem wherein KYC defeated the latter 3-0.However, based on a complaint that KYC fielded a non-Zeliangrong player, the Organizing Committee declared the match as a draw.
Apart from imposing Rs 5000 as fine, the non-Zeliangrong player was suspended.
KYC accepted and respected the decision.
Again on November 20, KYC played against Chingkhulong (Lamsang).
The teams were tied 1-1.Chingkhulong team evidently had a non-Zeliangrong player.
Therefore, KYC filed a complaint with Rs 2000 as protest fee and urged the Zeliangrong Football Association and the Organizing committee to look into the matter and take up appropriate action.
Surprisingly, the Organizing committee declared the goals scored by KYC and Chingkhulong team null and void and settled the matter by merely imposing a fine on Chingkhulong team.
This unfair judgement is strongly condemned.
While the first match with Sawombung Sairem wherein KYC scored 3 goals was declared a draw and was subjected to various actions, the complaint filed against Chingkhulong by KYC was settled in a biased manner, it said.
Considering the promising young players who undoubtedly can bring laurels to the community and the State, KYC urged the authority concerned to look into the issues and ensure people or association with vested interest are not given the permission to organise any sports activity or tournament.
