Hill bandh ultimatum served

The Joint Coordination Committee of Tribal Organisation has warned of imposing a 48 hour hill districts bandh from midnight of Nov 28 if the Govt fails to sign contract agreement with the appointed Joint Director of TRI on or before Nov 28 .
Speaking to reporters today at Manipur Press Club, convener of Joint Coordination Committee of Tribal Organisations R Asing said that the TRI has failed to deliver services in all aspects due to absence of a Joint Director.
As such, JCCTO has served an ultimatum to the Chief Minister to facilitate signing of contract agreement with the appointed Joint Director, TRI for the smooth functioning of the institute on or before Nov 28 .
If the Govt fails to give positive response, JCCTO will impose a 48 hour hill districts bandh from midnight of Nov 28, Asing said.
JCCTO has also demanded decentralisation of Tribal Affairs and Hills Dept and setting up of the department's office at every hill district.
