Imphal, November 24 2017:
The Thadou Students' Association has congratulated Kimneingah Kigen and other successful candidates on their selection as MJS-III by the High Court of Manipur on November 13 .
A press release issued by secretary general of Thadou Students' Association congratulated all the successful candidates from Thadou community on their recent selection as Assistant professor in Government Colleges under Higher Education Department.
It highlighted that as per notification of the competent authority, any citizen of India with a law degree from any recognised or lawful established University or institution in India, irrespective of their cultural or ethnic background- is eligible for the State judicial service.
Although it is desired by the authority that the applicants know Manipur or a local language of Manipur, it is not mandatory.
The association stated that any departments under State Government does not have any orders/judgements/memorandums issued or written in Manipuri language.
Although knowledge of a local language can be helpful for general communication, a judge is not going to prepare a make up story but make the judgement in English based on facts and evidences.
In light of this, the association has urged all concerned not to have any apprehensions or misgiving in the selection process of the judicial magistrates.
