Veteran Cricket: Cyclone overcome NAPSA in a low scoring match

Sashi snatched Cyclone from the jaws of defeat against NAPSA in a low scoring match in the Arambam Amutombi Sharma Memorial Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground on Tuesday.
Batting fist, after winning the toss, NAPSA batsmen could not thwart the twister of Cyclone bowlers and few could cross the double figure mark.
Ratankumar (23); Bhogen (20) and Nand (16) were the main contributors to total score of 88 .
Tiken created havoc for the NAPSA players and claimed 4 wickets while Roben; Surchandra; Arun; Binoy and Ratan 1 wickets each.
The collective effort of Cyclone bowlers sent all the NAPSA batsmen to the pavilion in 23.2 overs.
Cyclone batsmen were returned the favour by NAPSA bowlers but came short by 1 wicket.
Sashi, master of crunch situation, stood firm and scored 42 and remained not out to take Cyclone home in 26.3 overs.
Puthiba's 5 wickets was the chief wicket taker of NAPSA bowlers.
He was supported by Bhogen (3 wickets) and Somorendro (1 wicket) in NAPSA's endeavour to win the group match.
