HU, KhSC, AMHA and Radial Club march forward

Hockey Union, KhSC, AMHA and Radial Club collected full points winning their matches today at the inaugural Wahengbam Thoibi Devi Challenge Hockey Trophy being played at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
In the first match HU, Lairikyengbam Leikai defeated PHAM, Yaiskul 7-4 riding on a four goal strike from M Dhananjay.
The winners received two penalty corners and scored one of them only.
However, their rival was unsuccessful in converting any of the four penalty corners that came into their kitty.
Dhananjay scored in the 7th, 14th, 33rd and 36th minutes while compatriot S Amujao chipped in with two goals in the fag end of the match.
PHAM reduced the margin through a brace from K Debeshwor (12th,38th) and one each from Kh Jayanta (35th) and Kh Rabikanta(59th).In the second match, KhSC, Khongman scored their second win in as many days getting the better of YCCIC, Ahallup 6-2 in a match that witness both sides squandering all the five penalty corners that came their ways.
Skipper of the Khongman outfit Ph Kirankumar scored twice while teammates N Jenjen, Th Thoungamba, L Deepu and L Bhaskar sounded the board one time each.
For YCCIC P Monesana and Vikram were the scorers.
AMHA, Moirang overcame the disappointment of losing their match yesterday with a 7-3 victory over Lizard Library, Wangkhei.
The Wangkhei outfit earned half a dozen penalty corner but ended with zero conversion rate.
AMHA also wasted their share of five penalty corners but benefited from two field goals from M Gorgeson and one each from captain M Bronson, Ph Shova, M Sanjaymani, Kh Ibungou and M Rabichandra.
The goals for Lizard Library came comprised of a pair from M Sibananda and a strike from N Jelele.
The last match of the day featuring Radial Club, Assam and MEIRA, Bashikhong saw the visitors slamming 13 goals past the hapless state team who managed to pull just one back.
Ratul led the list of scorers with five, followed by Halbir with two.
The other scorers were Rituraj Bora, Jatinder Pal, Karan Singh, Niranjan Bora, Vijay Yadav and Md Fiyaz.
The solitary goal for MEIRA came from the stick of S Nabil.
