MSWCW to organise training programme

A training programme would be organised by the Manipur State Commission for Women for the purpose of conducting a survey on the socio-economic and political empowerment of women in Manipur.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur State Commission for Women office at Lamphel, chairperson Dr L Ibotombi Devi said, "The Central Government has directed that a survey be conducted to scrutinise the socio-economic and political empowerment of women in North East region.
As per the direction, two day training programme would be held in order to carry out the survey successfully in Manipur as well" .
Three women and supervisors from each district of the State would participate in the training programme.
They would join in conducting the survey at their respective area by interacting with womenfolk with regard to various socio-economic issues.
Subsequently, a report would be submitted to the National Commission for Women, New Delhi and other departments concerned, said Dr Ibotombi.
Dr Ibotombi added that according to the report, the Central Government would undertake various required initiatives for the welfare of women in the North East region.
