Thangso Baite bats for meaningful education

Member of Parliament (MP), Outer Manipur Thangso Baite on Monday said Education will not bring anything good until and unless it was made meaningful with positive implementation of what was being taught.
The MP was speaking at the Silver Jubilee celebration function of Helthang Memorial Higher Secondary School, commonly and popularly known as HM.

He also unveiled the Silver Jubilee monument stone at the School campus.
To buttress his point, Baite said that there are many educated and talented youths who have now become addicted to various kinds of drug due to negative implementation of what they learnt and knew.
"Let us make our land, district and village where proper education can be achieved and struggle to implement in a positive and meaningful way", urged the MP while emphasizing the need to make educational institution noteworthy for the young generation where they can reform themselves for better future.
The MP who graced the occasion as Chief Guest further stressed on the importance of shaping the younger generation so that they could be equipped to face challenges in future for making a better future society.
"Let us pay most attention to younger generation so as to make our future bright", said the MP.
Baite also rued that fact that many youths particularly from hill districts went to big cities with great expectation from their parents but unfortunately in many cases, they returned back without achieving anything worthwhile.
Government of India introduced a numbers of developmental programmes like MGNREGS, Mid Day Meal and now Food Security Act is on the pipeline said Thangso Baite.
The MP lamented that it is time for self-introspection with regard to Government's developmental programmes and see if they have been fruitfully implemented at the grassroots.
To commemorate the Silver Jubilee, students of the school from 1990 to 2015 in batch wise beat the traditional Gong 25 times which was followed by a condolence service for the departed members of the school.
Rev.Seikholet Singson, who erected the foundation stone of the school on November 10, 1989 dedicated the Silver Jubilee monument stone while the MP also released the Silver Jubilee Souvenir on the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion Thangminlen Kipgen, former Minister, who attended the as Guest of Honour said that HM.

School has been successful in moulding the pillars of the future nation for the past 25 years.

School authority to recommend two students so that they could be sponsored by Late Major Pagin Memorial Trust for one year.

School is was founded in the year 1989 with the motto "Ever Forward"-Prov.9:10 in loving memory of his late father Helthang Singsit with an objective to fulfill his dream.
The aim and objectives of his late father according to Seikholet Singsit was to eradicated illiteracy and promote quality education.

School is located at the heart of Keithelmanbi on AH-1 or NH-2 and has over the 25 years produced many officers in the field of medical, military, civil administration, etc.
The Silver Jubilee celebration was attended by Lunthang Haokip, EM (Vety.&Medical), ADC Sadar Hills, Thangkam Misao, Member ADC Sadar Hills, Hatlhing, MDC, DK.
Thangboi, Addl.DC Kangpokpi and Kaigoulal Kipgen, SDC(HQ), ADC Kangpokpi, who was also among the founder student of the school.
Various CSOs leaders, Church leaders and village chiefs, parents, guardian also attended the occasion apart from principal/headmaster of various educational institutions within the
area.
