The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has adopted a new policy regrding the recruitment and serviec rules of football referees, stated a press release by the Secretary, All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), L Ranjit Roy today.
According to the new rules of AIFF, the state associations are authorised to decide on the norms for the recruitment of referees.
The minimum age limit for the recruitment of referee will be 18 years while the maximum age for officiating local events will be 50 years for all the referees.
The state associations should take up necessary steps to identify referees for specialisation as Referees and Assistant referees from class II level.
The release further stated that the maximum age limit for a candidate to appear in the national examinations of referees will be 35 years instead of 40 years and its will be implemented from 2011 .
