Manipur Shooting Competition : Imphal West lead the pack with 19 gold

With five more goals, two silvers and three bronzes at the end of today's event, the Imphal West District Rifle Association (IWDRA) is leading the pack to clinch the championship title at 27th All Manipur Shooting Competition 2017, which is organised under the aegis of the Manipur Rifle Association at Khuman Lampak Shooting Range.
Overall, the IWDRA has grabbed 19 golds, 11 silvers and 10 bronzes (40 medals in total) in the competition that concludes on May 28.Its major opponent, the Imphal East District Rifle Association (IEDRA) is following behind with 13 golds, 11 silvers and 5 bronzes (29 medals) .
On day six, it was raining records at Khuman Lampak.
In the 2 5-metre Junior Men's Individual Sports Pistol, Huidrom Ajay of IWDRA accumulated 277 points to set a new record.
He scored two more points than K Lenin's 2003 record.
In the 50-metre Men's Individual Air Pistol, his fellow shooter Kangjam Prem scored 260 points to break the record of MRA's L Tomba, who had shot four lesser points in 2001.K Prem did a double,
setting another record in the 10-metre Men's Individual Pistol (ISSF) by scoring 563 points.
He broke H Ajay's 2015 record of 561 points.
The record raining continued with Amakcham Gautam of IEDRA standing out in the 50-metre Men's Individual Free Pistol.
He racked up 253 points, breaking his own best performance of 2016 by scoring ten more points today.
