JAC's march to CM's bungalow stopped

A man who was reported missing since May 17 was found dead hanging from a tree in a suspicious manner at Tangjen hill in between Moijing and Waithou under Thoubal police station this morning at around 9.30 .
The deceased has been identified as Hirom Priyo-kumar @ Yaima s/o Mani- chandra of Heingang Pathoibi Lampak.
The body was come across by some passers by who immediately informed the police.
Shortly, a team of Thoubal police arrived and cordoned the area.
They then informed Heingang police and the deceased's family members who arrived later at the spot identified the body.
A team of forensic experts conducted inquest of the body and surrounding areas.
Later the dead body was deposited at JNIMS morgue for post mortem.
Meanwhile, on hearing that Priyokumar had been found dead hanging in a suspicious manner, irate locals of the deceased and members of the Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the missing of Priyokumar held an emergency meeting wherein several resolutions were passed.
After holding the meeting, they marched towards the Chief Minister's bungalow to submit a memorandum to urge the CM to arrest the culprit (s) involved in the suspected murder and punish them according to the law.
The enraged locals and the JAC members were stopped by security personnel deployed near the CM's bungalow.
They were pushed back to Nupi Lan Memorial Complex during which a heated argument cropped up between the two sides.
Later, three of them were allowed to meet Principal Secretary (Home) and SP Imphal West as the CM is out of station.
The memorandum was submitted to the two officers.
It may be mentioned that Priyokumar who was working at Real Image Travel shop at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai failed to return ever since he went to SBI MG Avenue Branch to deposit money on May 17 .
