64th State Veteran Badminton : N Sanjoy wins +35 men's singles title

Imphal, December 18 2018:
N Sanjoy has claimed the +35 years men's singles title in the 64th State Veteran Badminton Championship 2018 organised by Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Stadium, DM College Campus.
N Sanjoy won the title of the above 35 years uncontested as his rival did not turn up while L Krishnakumar won the above 40 years singles title beating Oinam Basanta 21-16, 23-21 in the final today.
Y Ojit claimed the title of the above 45 years category thrashing Moirangthem Imocha 21-10, 21-13 in the final clash today.
The above 50 years men's singles title went to W Amusana who overcame Kangabam Yadumani 21-10, 21-12 while the above 55 years men's single title was claimed by Benu Salam.
Benu Salam pulled of a 21-11, 16-21,21-11 win over Y Samarendra Singh to clinch the title today.
Hoichong was able to claim the women's singles title for above 40 years beating Joycee in the final yesterday.
The men's doubles title for above 35 years went to the pair of Bony and T Romen Singh who carved out a 21-18, 17-21, 21-17 win over C Premson and L Socrates in the final today while Akoijam Rabi and S Sanayaima were able to clinch the above 40 years doubles title by easing to a 21-16, 21-19 win over M Deepak and O Premananda in the final.
H Yugin and P Bilash were crowned champions of above 45 years men's doubles competition after they edged over W Amusana and Yumnam Bale 21-15, 19-21, 21-13 in the final match while K Bijen and S Somen duo claimed the above 50 years beating Kangabam Yadumani and Th Ranbir Singh 21-13, 15-21, 21-14.The above 55 years men's doubles title, on the other hand went to I Shantikumar and T Nimai who secured a 21-18, 22-20 in the final match against N Biren Singh and Y Samarendra.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by Education Minister, Th Radheshyam and Dy CM, Y Joykumar who is also the president of Manipur Badminton Association as dignitaries who also feted the winners and runners of different age groups and events.
