TRAU retaining top spot, MPSC goes up to 3rd place

Imphal, January 10 2011:
After playing a drawn match against USA, Khurai, TRAU, Kwakeithel remain unmoved in the first spot in the point tally of the ongoing 5th Manipur State League organized by the AMFA under the Vision India Project of AFC at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
In another match MPSC beat ESU, Wangkhei 2-1 and grabbed the third place.
The first match today played between TRAU, Kwakeithel and USA, Khurai concluded in a draw since both teams failed to score a single goal against one another.
TRAU with 35 points held the top spot.
USA Khurai also remained in the 9th place with 16 points.
The second match was played between MPSC and ESU, Wangkhei.
In a keenly contested match, MPSC beat ESU 2-1 to win and climbed up to the 3rd place with 29 points from 4th place.
On the other hand, ESU with 10 points went down to the 10th place.
Kh Kenitt Chiru drew the first blood of the match against MPSC in the 29th minute of the match.
With one goal ahead of them, MPSC tried their best to equalize the score.
The first half concluded with ESU leading by one goal.
However in the second half, MPSC scored two goals against ESU and won the match.
The first goal of MPSC was scored by Hemkhosun Touthang in the 66th minute of the match while the second goal was scored in the 72nd minute by Premkumar.
Defending champion NISA, Thangmeiband will take on YWC, Thambalkhong in the first match tomorrow at 11.30 am and the second match will be played between SSU, Singjamei and NEROCA, Sangakpham at 1.30 pm.
