Army's version on land dispute report in Senapati district

Imphal, January 10 2011:
The Dogra Regiment has its own story of the clash between Thonglang and Shongjang villages on January 5.In contrast to the police and media reports, 10th Dogra Regiment, in a report lodged to the Kangpokpi police station stated that the January 5 incident was a gun clash between its troops and militants.
The report said that personnel of the regiment rushed to the area on receipt of information on the presence of armed UG cadres.
When the troops reached Christian Nepali village near Shongjang, a single gun shot was fired on the troops.
When the troops retaliated, three persons in camouflage dresses ran away and escaped.
This report is totally different from the reports of the two villages.
