IEDFA lift U-15 Sub Junior Girls IDF Tourney

Imphal East District Football Association (IEDFA) lifted the 12th Under 15 Sub Junior Girls Inter District Football Tournament by thrashing District Sports Association (DSA) Kakching at Artificial Turf, Khuman Lampak on Sunday in the presence of L Dinamani, Secretary General AMFA.
The tournament that occupies an important position in the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) calendar was participated by two teams - IEDFA and DSA and played in double leg format.
It may be recalled, in the first leg the eventual winner had decimated DSA by 11 -1.Football watchers were not expecting any miracles rather some improvement in the performance of the young DSA players.
In hindsight, it can be said that for DSA there is no shame in losing to a team like IEDFA.

First Half .
With a huge first leg goal advantage IEDFA show calmness while the budding DSA players came on the pitch with intent to improve their performance against the highly rated opponents.
From the first whistle IEDFA took control of the midfield and dictate the pace of the match.
IEDFA midfielders supplied the ball to both flanks to mount attacks on DSA goalmouth.
The direction of the attack keeps on changing sides.
Slowly DSA defense could not track movements of IEDFA strikers and lapping on the opportunity W Kanchan dogged her to slot the first goal of the match in 7th min.
DSA resort to man to man marking but the speed of IEDFA strikers outpace them so DSA had to sit back to thwart the attacks but the attacks come in thick and fast from all directions.
In one such attack, Th Mangolnganbi get pass DSA custodian in 9th min to increase the lead.
Th Ahila also added her name in the list of goal scorer in 14th min.
Moments later, Kanchan, who was quite for some time, suddenly came from nowhere and pumped in three goals successively in 18th; 20th and 22nd min to take her personal score to 4 goals.
O Lamnganbi rounded off the goal spree by shaking the net of DSA in 27th and 34th min.
Second Half .
After the breather, IEDFA players lowered their guard and did not initiate any serious attacks towards DSA.
However, to avoid the embarrassment of first leg where DSA snatched a goal, IEDFA did not lose the territory and force DSA to chase the ball.
Until the final moment, IEDFA controlled the match and ensured that no harm is done to their reputation.
