Imphal, April 05 2015 :
National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) on Sunday appealed to the Governor of Manipur not to give his assent to "The visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill, 2015" saying that it is in the interest of the people nor is it the demand of JCILPS.
In a statement issued by the NIPCO IPR Secretary Sahabudin Cheshaba, the committee urged the Government to table another bill which will be helpful in protecting the indigenous people.
NIPCO alleged that the bill was the handiwork of Chief Minister of Manipur O Ibobi to serve his interest and asked why Government formed a political committee if it is for his political interest only.
The press statement also alleged that the bill does not reflect the five points submitted by JCILPS.
