A twelve member Manipur team left for Guwahati today to attend the flag-off ceremony of the First India-Asean Car Rally on November 22.The twelve members State team will join other groups from across the country at Guwahati for the rally kickoff which will proceed till Singapore in the international leg.
Nodal Officer of the rally V Chibber who is also the Principal Secretary (Election) flagged off the team from Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
Several top Govt officials including YAS Commissioner Y Budhachandra and the Director Dr Prem Singh were also present on the occasion.
The Manipur team consisted of RK Krishnachandra, RK Pralo, Subhash Elangbam and Th Tarunkumar as the leader at Sautro Hyundai; Ch Dhananjoy, L Manoranjan and L Gourachandra Sharma led by Sinam Pritam in a MUV Wagon R; while the third group consisted of Amit Bajala, RK Guni, Sanat Bakliwal and Sumit Bajala as team leader in MUV Endeavour.
Expected to be participated by around 200 motor vehicles the rally, aimed at symbolic opening of the economically strategic eastern corridor, will arrive at Imphal on November 24 before proceeding the next day from Khuman Lampak Sports Complex for the international leg that would criss cross several south east Asian countries.
