Imphal, November 20:
Committee on Public Interest and Grievances Churachandpur (CPIG) today submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister demanding for immediate attention to the problems faced by the people residing in the Indo- Myanmar border areas.
Welcoming the Prime Minister on his maiden visit to the State, CPIG chairman T Kaigou appealed to the Prime Minister to help in holding elections to the Autonomous District Council and Scheduled Hill Village Councils of the State.
He further urged the Prime Minister to waive all the loans given to villagers of Chandel and Churachandpur Dist under the NCDC, NABARD, HUDCO financial schemes as most of the NGOs and societies which had benefited from these schemes had been destroyed during the Kuki-Zomi ethnic clashes in the late nineties.
