12th Manipur State League : NEROCA FC share spoils with DM RAO, Muvanlai top AIM 2-0

NEROCA FC were held to a 1-1 draw by DM RAO, Sekmai today at Mapal Kangjeibung in the 54th match of the 12th Manipur State League being organised under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association while Muvanlai Athletics sealed a 2-0 win over AIM, Khabam in the 55th match staged latter in the evening.
The first match of the day saw both NEROCA FC and DM RAO made a cautious start deterring one another from taking the lead in the first half before settling the game in a 1-1 draw at the end.
Though the game failed to spark excitement to the spectators, NEROCA FC got the chance to open up the scoring with A Sushil taking the shot in the 60th minute after making a fresh start in the second half and ended the goal drought.
NEROCA FC looked to clinch the win as they continued to press the Sekmai side for major portion of the game but Thangjoulen unexpectedly broke their heart striking the equaliser for DM RAO few second before the final whistle.
Eventually the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Ng Ronald of NEROCA FC was yellow carded by the referee in the 43rd minute of the match.
The second match between Muvanlai Athletics and AIM, Khabam saw the former team dominate the second half to seal a 2-0 win.
Both teams were evenly poised in the first half sharing almost equal possession and chances but failed to get on target to go into the break goalless.
Muvanlai Athletics however entered into the field with a clear mind after the restart and it was Lalsiemthang Fimate who hit a brace (63rd and the 77th minute) and handed his team a comfortable 2-0 win.
Muvanlai Athletic's Haolengou Kipgen (30') and AIM'S Ch Kinson (27'), Akbar Khan (62') and Loyangamba (82') were yellow carded in this match for their unsportsmanlike behaviours.
NISA, Thangmeiband will meet KLASA, Keinou in the 56th league match at 11.30 am on December 18 while SSU, Singjamei will take on NACO, Nambul Mapal at 1.30 pm in the 58th league match.
