Christmas gifts distributed to needy children of Kpi

Christmas gifts sent for needy children from Kangpokpi by a Major of the 25 Assam Rifles, who was once posted at Kangpokpi, were distributed in a simple function organized by Zalaileng weekly here today.
Major Radha Krishnan of 25 Assam Rifles, who was once posted at Kangpokpi DHQs when the 25 Assam Rifles were deployed in the area, sent various stationery items in four packages through Amazon to the Editor of Zalaileng weekly last week.
"The packages are for my poor and needy brothers and sisters of Kangpokpi as a token of love to give mem smile during this Christmas festive season", Major Radha Krishnan said in his message.
In the message, the Major said that he badly needs the blessings of such children in particular and the people of Kangpokpi town while recalling the love and friendliness of the people during his short but meaningful stayed in the town.
Maj Radha Krishnan is currently posted with United Nations in Africa.
He had sent the Christmas gift all the way from Africa for the.needy children of Kangpokpi.
The distribution function was attended by Lalminlen Misao, MPS, Addl SP (Highway), Senapati District and leaders of Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization (KWWO) apart from various other local bodies' leaders.
Altogether, 12 children were identified and distributed the stationery items for their use in the next academic session during the function.
Lalminlen Misao, MPS, Hekim Hangshing, President KWWO and Heneng Khongsai, General Secretary, KWWO distributed the items to the children in the presence of the Zalaileng Weekly editor at Zalaileng Weekly office at Kangpokpi DHQs.
