Teachers of Jiribam yet to receive their November salary, AMESTA threatens to lock ZEO office

Jiribam, December 16 2018:
Teachers of Jiribam have not received their salary for the month of November till date due to the absence of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Jiribam, said Gen Secy All Jiribam Elementary School Teachers' Association, Jiribam branch L Rajen Kumarr Singh in a press release issued today.
He continued that after the previous ZEO Jiribam Thomas Koireng was transferred from Jiribam, the Joint Secretary Education (S) has issued an order for the transfer and posting of ZEO Ukhrul district R K Makaohei Singh as ZEO Jiribam on October 31 .
However, the said ZEO has never reported to join his office at Jiribam, he alleged and added that another order was issued by Secretary Education (S) for the transfer and posting of ZEO in-charge Kamjong District Sanasam Mangi Singh as ZEO Jiribam on November 24, 2018 but the said ZEO also has never turned up to join ZEO office Jiribam till date which has left the administrative work of ZEO office Jiribam non-functional and paralized.
Representatives of AMESTA, Jiribam have also informed and discussed regarding the issue with the Director and the local MLA at many occasion but no postive response has received so far, the Gen Secy added and cautioned the authority concerned to arrange new ZEO by December 20 failing which the teachers' association will lock down the ZEO office Jiribam and will also launch various forms of agitation from next day onwards from December 21 .
