20th Challenge Cup Veteran Football : Huge wins for Chajing FC, BDVFA and ASVFC

Imphal, May 11 2018:
Chajing FC; BDVFA, Bishnupur and ASVFC, Sekmai registered huge wins in today's league matches of the 20th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2018 at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
The tournament is being organised by Manipur Veteran Football Association featuring 16 teams including 1 team from outside the State (from quarter final stage).
IEVSA, Imphal East and AMBA, Cheirap played out a 1-1 draw in the evening.
In the Group B league match staged at 7.30 am, BDVFA, Bishnupur posted their first win of the tournament overwhelming UKFC, Uripok by 6-0 goals while ASVFC, Sekmai thumped FV, Taobungkhok by 3-0 goals in another Group B league.
BDVFA, Bishnupur displayed absolute dominance in the field as their players overran UKFC, Uripok in a one-sided match.
M Kiran Kumar was the pick of the day for BDVFA as he pumped in 4 goals (16', 25', 37' and 49') and helped mauled the Uripok side while N Shivananda (47') and W Iboyai (60') chipped in with one goal each.
In another Group B league match, ASVFC, Sekmai also proved their supremacy in the field destroying the defenders of FV Taobungkhok to make it 3-0 at the end.
W Rajesh scored two rapid goals in the 32' and 36' of the match while L Lolendro added the last goal in the 53rd minute.
The first match of the evening saw Chajing FC thrash AVFA, Akampat by a huge 6-1 margin.
S Budha put Chajing FC ahead with a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute before making his second in the second half.
The Akampat side also staged some fine counter runs but had to enter into the break trailing behind by 1 goal.
It was Golmei of the Akampat side who found leveller in the 39th minute.
The parity however did not last long as the next minute saw Kh Sanaton give Chajing FC the 2-1 lead before Kh Hemo made it 3-1 the very next minute.
S Budha (53'), W Robin (59') and O Dilip (60+2)' took their turn to make it 6-1 at the end.
In the last match, W Rona of IEVSA scored the opener in the 17th minute but was equalised by RK Bimol of AMBA to share one point each at the end.
