Renedy wishes best of luck to state Olympians

With only 18 days left for the London Olympic to begin on July 27, International footballer from Manipur Potsangbam Renedy wished best of luck to the five Olympians of Manipur and prayed for them to bring laurels for Manipur by winning medals in the Games.
Renedy, in an exclusive interview with Hueiyen Lanpao, said that Olympic has been the biggest dream of every players in his lifetime, Becoming a part of the Indian contingent is almost an opportunity of a lifetime.
Besides winning medals in the Olympic, participating in the Olympic itself is a great achievement of every players he said while adding that he prayed sincerely for the five Olympians from Manipur to win medals in the Games and bring laurels to the state.
Three women and two men of Manipur are participating in the London Olympics as part of the Indian Contingent.
Boxer MC Mary Kom is participating in 51 kg flyweight category while boxer Laishram Devendra in 49 kg light flyweight category.
Weightlifter Ngangbam Soniya is participating in women's 48 kg category.
Archer Laishram Bombayla is contesting in women's individual and team events in the Olympics.
Hockey Player Kothajit is also participating in the Olympics as a midfielder in the Indian Hockey team.
Born on June 1979 at Awang Sekmai, Renedy Singh always had a dream of making it big in the football and live up to his dreams.
For Renedy, it all started in the year 1990, when he was selected for Tata Football Academy and after spending six important years at the country most recognized football academy, the talented midfielder started off his professional football career signing for Kolkata giants, East Bengal, where he spent three years (1997-2000) and went on to become the most desirable midfielder of the country.
After three impressive years with Red and Golds, his next destination was East Bengal's traditional rivals Mohun Bagan, where he took his game to the next level spending another five important years (2001-06) before joining Everyday Club (now , Chirag United) for four months.
Like everyone, he too had tough time and things were back on track for Renedy, when he signed a three year contract with North India pride, JCT Phagwara in the year 2006 .
As far as his International commitment is concerned, Renedy Singh has been a regular figure in the Indian National team since 1997.Renedy has been a part of the victorious LG Cup team (2002) Nehru Cup (2007 & 2009) as well AFC Challenge Cup 2008 .
His curling free-kicks and swift passes are enough to tear apart the opponent defence.
Renedy Singh has represented India in 74 matches and has scored 12 goals.
The sober midfielder love to spend time with his friends and looks up to David Beckham as his icon.
