Imphal, July 09 2012:
Plagued by the decision of the Government to scrap the reservation of certain percentage of kerosene oil to dealers, all the K-oil dealers of Manipur today find themselves unable to lift their quota of the said fuel from the IOC depot.
Talking to The Sangai Express a source said that the CAF and PD Department in its office memorandum of July 2 this year had decided to scrap clause 5, which otherwise entitled the dealers a certain percentage of the fuel.
Taken aback by the office memorandum the dealers said that they were granted certain reservation to compensate the loss caused due to shortage of delivery by tankers, handling leakage loss and temperature variations, pilferage etc.
Efforts to meet the CAF and PD Minister on two occasions, one at his office chamber and the other at his residence proved futile, said the source and added that the dealers are today not in a position to lift the said fuel and distribute the same to the public at the Government approved rate.
The source said that the first instalment of 25 percent of their allocation should be lifted by the 10th of every month and added that this quota may lapse if there is no rectification.
