5th MNCA Plate Tournament : PTCC, MPSC, RCA emerge victorious

PTCC-Patsoi Part III, MPSC-Manipur Central Jail and RCA-Lilong secured wins in today's league matches of the ongoing 5th MNCA Plate Tournament.
In the Group B League match staged at Langthabal Public Ground, an all-round performance from Potsangbam Bonem (45 runs, 4 wickets for 17 runs in 7 overs) helped MPSC earn a 44 run victory against YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel.
MPSC won the toss and posted a total of 162 runs for all wickets down in 27.5 overs.
P Bonem (45) made his best effort to keep the scoreboard ticking but YUCC bowlers did well to keep their rival's batting line up under pressure by taking wickets in regular intervals.
Sagolsem Sunil 18, Oinam Rojit Singh 14 and Indraban 11 were other double digit scorers for the team in this innings which saw Saikhom Arbin of YUCC clinching four wickets alone for 28 runs in 5.5 overs.
Kadamjit (2/41) and Khundrakpam Punshiba (2/15) were also commendable bowlers of YUCC.
YUCC batsmen however failed to withstand MPSC's bowling attack of Bonem (4/17 in 7 overs), Keisham Kennedy (3/16) and Sarangthem Shangker (2/22 in 7 overs) and had to bundle out for 118 runs.
Ningthoujam Thoiba (30) was the only significant run getter of YUCC.
Bonem of MPSC was eventually named man of the match.
In the Group C league match staged at Moijing playground, PTCC managed a 6 wicket win against RRCC, Churachandpur for the second win after losing to KSDO in the previous group stage match.
Having won the toss, PTCC opted to field first and restricted the Churachandpur side to 103 for 10 in 28.1 overs.
Haominthang Kipgen topscored for the team with 21 runs off 19 balls as Haojalen 16 and Soilalmuan 20 followed suit in this innings which witnessed a brilliant bowling performances from PTCC's Thangjam Mocha (4 wickets for 7 runs in 8 overs which include 3 maidens) and John N Hmar (4 wickets for 26 runs in 6.1 overs).
In reply, PTCC lost M Veekash on duck but M Andyroshan's quick knock of 41 runs off 25 balls which include 4 fours and Hijam Hemachan-dra's 23 set the recovery path for the team.
After losing four wickets, Dominic Moirangthem (15 not out) and Yambem Kaikuyamba (6 not out) then drove PTCC to 107 easily in 13.2 overs.
Mocha of PTCC was named man of the match.
Elsewhere in the Group D league match played at Oriental College playground, RCA, Lilong defeated NAPSA, Kha Imphal by 37 runs.
After winning the toss, RCA elected to bat and posted a total of 199 runs for 10 runs in 31.4 overs riding Md Aslam Khan (43 off 25 balls), Md Saroj Khan (41 off 52 balls), Aziz Mirza (34 not out) and Sabakhan (32) .
And despite, Bijaykumar Yumnam (44 off 70 balls) and Heisnam Boney's (42 off 37 balls) heroics, NAPSA were bowled out for 162 runs in 35.5 overs as Wm Rajak picked up four wickets for 23 runs in 7 overs and Md Iliyas Khan scalped with 3 wickets for 23 runs to rattle the batting line up of NAPSA.
Earlier in RCA's innings, Chingkhei Ksh enjoyed a five wicket haul and Bipin Singh Ningthoujam managed a four wicket haul but it proved futile as their chase went flop.
Wm Razak Khan who forced to collapse the chase by picking up four wickets was named man of the match.
