Speaker reaches out to underprevileged children at EMA foundation

Imphal, February 04 2021:
Manipur State Assembly Speaker Hon'ble Y.Khemchand Singh visted the EMA Foundation, an orphanage located at New Keithelmanbi and interacted with the children of the orphanage.
EMA Foundation houses 17 children who are also supported by Keithelmanbi Sector Assam Rifles in meeting its essential requirements regularly.
The children of the orphanage are also students of Assam Rifles Public School, New Keithelmanbi.
Post establishment of the orphanage, Keithelmanbi Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) have been extending a variety of administrative support to the children of the foundation.
Assistance in terms of essential commodities, health and hygiene items are periodically provided to ensure the children are safe and comfortable.
During the event organized by Keithalmanbi Batallion, Hon'ble speaker was welcomed with a heartful song by the children which was followed by a small cake cutting ceremony and interaction with staff and children.
Hon'ble Speaker Khemchand had a long interaction with the children where the hon'ble speaker acquainted himself with the challenges being faced by the children and the management of EMA foundation.
He promised to look into their grievances and provide necessary support to the children.
The speaker also gave gifts and financial assistance for the orphanage.The Hon'ble speaker appreciated Assam Rifles for all the efforts put in by the force to ameliorate the hardships of the under privileged section of the society, especially last year during the period of the COVID -19 pandemic.
