After thoroughly examining the report of the referee of 5th Manipur State League match between NISA and TRAU on September 25, the Executive Committee of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has decided to penalise two TRAU officials and three players of the Kwakeithel team.
A statement issued by AMFA today identified the two officials as team manager Sh Sukhdev Sharma and assistant manager Kh Nabachandra Singh with both banned from their respective posts till the end of the 5th MSL.
Moreover, accusing the two of instigating the players to resort to violence, AMFA has imposed a penalty of Rs 2500 each payable within the specified period and prohibited both from accompanying the team in any capacity in tournaments organised by AMFA, affiliated district units or AIFF and its affiliated State bodies.
Naming the guilty players as L Tiken, E Abocha and Th Netaji Singh and charging the trio of unsporting conduct, the Executive Council decided to debar Tiken, Abocha and netaji from playing the next five, two and three immediate matches of TRAU in the current MSL.
Moreover, all three have also been asked to pay penalty amount of Rs 3000 each within the debarred periods.
The AMFA panel also appreciated role of TRAU coach namely Kh Surmani Singh for his role in subsiding the tension and maintaining spirit of the game.
Earlier the referees had expressed their frustration and ire against the AMFA for failing to take up any action against the erring players and officials and had even mulled over the possibility of not taking the field this season.
