Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with the Delhi Tourism & Transportation Corporation Ltd.
is organizing 'Incredible India Festival' at State Emporia Complex, Baba Kharak Singh Marg here from October 1 to 15 as part of Commonwealth Games 2010 .
The festival aims at depicting the rich heritage of the country in the field of cuisines, handlooms, handicrafts and culture.
Ministry of Culture, Government of India is arranging the cultural programmes during the festival.
Ministry of Tourism has constructed many typically designed huts made of bamboos for the purpose of cuisines in front of each State Emporium at the Complex.
Each state government will highlight its best handlooms, handicrafts and cuisines in the Festival.
One food stall in front of Manipur Panthoibi Emporium is earmarked for Manipur cuisine.
Union Minister of Tourism Kumari Selja will inaugurate the Festival on October 1 at 7 pm in a solemn function.
For successful conduct of the initiative called 'India Celebrates' in connection with the Commonwealth Games 2010, a meeting with the participation of the States was held in Delhi Secretariat under the chairmanship pf P.K.Tripathi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Delhi on July 31 .
In a letter written by the General Manager of Delhi Tourism & Transportation Development Corporation Ltd.
to all the Managers of State Emporium in New Delhi on August 31 in connection the Incredible India Festival, it was asked to start works- to spruce up the fa�ade, signage and the area of the emporium; to improve the display, ambience and content of the emporium besides renovation; to improve the toilets in the emporium and to make arrangements to open the emporium till 10 pm from October 1 to 15 as the Emporia would be the main beneficiaries of footfalls expected during the Incredible India Festival at the State Emporia Complex.
Delhi Tourism also asked the State Emporia to display unique artifacts and handicrafts of the State concerned outside the emporium concerned so that the ambience of the festival improved.
Under the initiative of the Government of Manipur, the Manipur Panthoibi Emporium at Block C-7, State Emporia Complex at Baba Kharak Singh Marg here was recently renovated.
The Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., in its notice dated 22nd September 2010 invited applications from Handloom and Handicrafts Societies, NGOs and individuals for selling Manipuri handloom and handicrafts products at Manipur Panthoibi Emporium , New Delhi on rent basis.
