A mass cattle vaccination programme, organised under the civil action programme of the 4/8 Gorkha Rifles under Red Shield Division, was held today at Irengban village in Bishnupur district.
The mass vaccination programme was opened with a formal function which was attended by CO Col Kartik, Col CK Shhestry of 4/8 Gorkha Rifles, MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, Maj P Prasanta, Capt Sharatchandra, Dr Tripti Kuldip and veterinary Doctor Capt Vikash.
CO, Shhestry, speaking on the occasion, said that the cattle vaccination programme was being organised to help villagers to identify diseases infecting their domestic cattles and save their cattles by administering appropriate medicines if found infected.
He also expressed gratitude to the veterinary department of the state government for deputing veterinary doctors to assist the promgramme conducted under the Military Civil Action programme of the Red Shield Division.
He also expressed hope that if government, security forces and people go hand in hand, peace will return in the state automatically.
