Describing him as a beacon of light not only to the students, youths, elders and womenfolk in the society, but also to the freedom struggle, Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has condoled the death of chairman of KYKL Achou Toijamba.
Sharing the grief and pain of his organisation (KYKL), family members and relatives, KCP has also stated that his untimely death is an irreparable loss to the freedom struggle.
In a statement, president of KCP Senggoi Meitei recalled that Toijamba grew up to be a student leader and took active part in the 1965 student's agitation over artificial scarcity of rice in Manipur.
He was the president of the joint student body which was formed in the aftermath of the agitation and remained its advisor till early parts of 1970s.From 1972-73 to late 1970s, he took up the mission of bringing together the Meitei community settling outside Kangleipak.
He also organised many youth marches and instilled the spirit of oneness among the youngsters.
He was also one of the leaders whose effort has led to relocation of Lainingthou Sanamahi at Hajing Khongban.
As the chairman of KYKL Achou Toijamba, who was popularly known as Tachou among the people, continued to work for unity among the various revolutionary groups till his last breath, Senggoi Meetei said, while calling to all for heeding to the message of Tachou and pave way for the future of Kangleipak and other North Eastern States.
