Maring sports meet ends

The 3rd biennial Sport Meet organised by All Maring Sports Association (AMSA) under the theme 'Peace and Development through Sports' concluded today at Laiching Minou village playground in Chandel district.
The valedictory function of the sports meet was attended by Lhukhosei Zou, Chairman ADC Chandel, Lamboi Gangte, member ADC Chandel and Ch Meshil, member ADC Chandel as the chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.
D Korungthang, MLA 42 Tengnoupal A/C, Hopeson Maring, Executive Member ADC Chandel also attended the valedictory function of the sports meet besides social workers, religious leaders and village chiefs.
An exhibition football match was also played between newly elected AMSA executives and social workers' team comprising MLA and ADC members during the valedictory function.
In the final match of men's football, Young Progessive Club (YPC), Langol defeated Phunal Sambum Youth Club by a margin of 3 goals to nil.
Shanghtil Youth Club and RMYC emerged as the champions of men's and women's volleyball.
In the final match of men's sepak takraw, Minou Youth Club defeated MSYDO Meipou and became the champion.
In the men's individual events, T Angsingwar of YPC Langol, TY Moshangphun of YPC Langol and M Mokung Solung of Minou Youth Club emerged as the champion of archery, javelin throw and marathon race respectively.
