KBC Centenary Marathon race held

Kuki Baptist Churches Centenary Marathon race was organized today in connection with the Centenary Celebration of the Kuki Baptist Churches to be held from December 11 to 14 at Tujang Vaichong, IT Road, Sadar Hills.
The Marathon race participated by more than 140 participants from various place of the state began at KBC Centre Church Salem Sapormeina and ended at KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi.
The race was flagged off by Lunthang Haokip, Executive Member, ADC Sadar Hills at around 7:15 am in the morning.
In a simple function held at KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi after the race, Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills said that Ukhrul and Kangpokpi is the origin of Christianity by the American Missionary in Manipur.
He continued that the centenary due to be celebrated at Tujang Vaichong in December is not only for the KBC but for the Kuki nation as a whole since it is the beginning and foundation Christianity among the Kukis.
While wishing centenary 'Chibai', the Chairman urged everyone to come up with more enhanced and positive approach for the successful celebration of the centenary.
Interestingly, 84 year old man from National Games Village, Imphal namely TS.
Ngamkholun also took part in the marathon race to beg the oldest participant title while Officer-in-Charge of Loktak Police Station Letkhohao Vaiphei, who is also the former OC of Kangpokpi PS and a member of KBC Sapormeina, also ran the marathon today.
Seilun of KBC Gambih No.9 begged the first position taking only 55 minutes to reach KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi from KBC Centre Church Salem Sapormeina while Mangkholun of KBC Gambih No.2 and Jangminlen of KBC Gambih No.9 begged the second and third positions.
10 others participants who reach the destination within a stipulated time were awarded a consolation prize.
