Imphal, October 10 2014 :
The proscribed RPF has refuted any connection whatsoever between the outfit and five individuals who were apprehended by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and 2nd Assam Rifles from Salungpham Makha Leikai on October 8 .
The five individuals apprehended on the charge of being RPF/PLA cadres were Phuritsabam Manimohon Meitei (42) s/o Ph Dharma Meitei of Salungpham Maning Leikai, Pebam Roben, Naorem Sova Meitei (59) s/o late N Mera Meitei of Salungpham Maning Leikai, Thokchom Raghumani (42) s/o Th Nimai of Khangabok Part 3 Makha Leikai and Jakir Hussain alias Babu Khan s/o Md Junap Ali of Yairipok Ningthounai Mathak Leikai.
According to a press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity chief Bangkim, all the five individuals are civilians.
By publishing their photographs together with bombs and explosive materials in media, the Indian military forces were misleading the people.
Such deceitful practices of the Indian military forces are not something new in this land.
It would do good for the Indian military forces to recall the massive and sustained civil movement in the aftermath of the brutal rape and murder of Th Manorama by personnel of 17th Assam Rifles on July 11, 2004 .
The killings of Sanjit and Rabina in fake encounters and subsequent exposure of the truth by Tehelka is still fresh in the minds of the general public.
Police commandos too need to remember the episode which bred widespread contempt against them, the outfit said.
