THAU, Thangmeiband scripted a narrow two runs victory over CRAU, Khamnam Bazar in the First MCA Plate Cricket Tournament played today at Khuman Lampak Cricket Ground.
Put in to bat first, THAU posted 107 in 28.4 overs with Rabikanta (37) and Chittaranjan (20) making useful contributions.
Chasing the score, CRAU managed 105 in 27.1 over to concede defeat by the narrow margin.
Sunil, who claimed three CRAU scalps, was adjudged man of the match.
OSCAR and ESU will play tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Jodiba's all round contribution of 51 runs and two rival wickets helped Champ, Khagempali record a comprehensive 158 runs victory over YWC, Patsoi in the opening match of the inaugural Brajabihari Paul and Govind Paul Memorial Trophy cricket tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground today.
YWC's decision to field first backfired as Champ piled a massive 238 for three in the 35-over game with Sahadat (67), Kennedy (51), Jodiba and Bonem (47) thrashed the rival bowlers.
Faced with the daunting task, the Patsoi side caved under pressure to be bowled out for only 80 runs in the 20th over.
Jodiba was named man of the match.
Blue Hawk, Khurai will take on TRAU, Kwakeithel tomorrow.
