Farmers-scientists interaction held

The one day farmers � scientist interaction and input distribution programme on "On farm participatory research on integrated farming system perspective under TSP (Tribal Sub Plan) was held at Ramva Village, Ukhrul on May 1 under the aegis of ICAR Research complex for NEH region Manipur centre- Imphal.
The programme was graced by Dr N Prakash, Joint Director, ICAR Manipur Centre; Dr Loken Singh, PC, KVK Ukhrul as the chief guest and president respectively, said a statement.
LR Lungsung, SMS, ATMA Ukhrul and SY Pamsing, Chairman, Ramva farmers club also participated in inaugural session.
45 farmers were selected for different components under integrated farming system (IFS) under which they are entitled 120 kg Rice (RCM-10), 80 kg groundnut (ICGS-76), 120 kg maize (Hybrid), 140 chicks (Gramapriya, 1 month old), 5000 fish fingerlings (Common carp), 3 Piglets (Cross breed), 200 orange seedlings, 200 Kachai lemon seedlings and 200 tree bean seedlings and 700 kg urea, SSP and MOP fertilizers.
A multi disciplinary team of experts from ICAR such as Dr PK Sharma, Senior scientist (plant pathology), Dr LK Baishya, Senior scientist (Agronomy), Dr MA Ansari, scientist (Agronomy), Dr SS Roy, scientist (Horticulture), Dr D Sarkar, scientist (Soil science), Dr Suresh Chandra, SMS, Ukhrul KVK (Fishery) and Dr Loken Singh, PC Ukhrul KVK (Animal Science) took part in the farmers-scientists interaction, the statement added.
