Truck rescued near Noney

Imphal, September 21 2011:
A FCI truck which was a part of the FCI civil convoy from Jiribam to Imphal carrying 8.5 tonnes of cement got stuck in the slushy road near milestone 73 on the NH37.As the driver tried to move the truck out, it began to slide towards the edge of the road and was about to topple over into the ravine.
A QRT of 10 Assam Rifles which was in the vicinity, rushed to the spot to help retrieve the truck to safety.
After 4 hours of effort to unload and pull the vehicle, it was retrieved and brought to the Main gate of 10 Assam Rifles due to Security reasons.
SP Tamenglong, in charge of the protection for the civil convoy showed gratitude to the 10 AR for their timely help and assistance for the safe passage of civil convoys from Jiribam to Imphal during the Economic Blockade, stated a press release of PIB (DW) .
