Imphal, September 21 2011:
While appealing to the people not to propagate and demand for a full-fledged Sadar Hills district as a demand based on ethnic line, the IKPF alleged the SPF government of directly or indirectly trying to create a chasm between the ethnic groups by applying the formula of Divide and Rule Policy between the different communities of the state.
If the government is to concede to the demand of the Nagas to carve out areas of Sadar Hills and merge it into adjoining Naga dominated districts, will it also merge Kuki inhabited areas in other districts of the state to adjoining Kuki dominated districts, IKPF asked in a press release.
It further appealed to the state government to bring an amicable solution to the current impasse in order to maintain peace and tranquility in the state.
If the government takes the demand of a full-fledged Sadar Hills districts as a legitimate one, then it should declare its districthood to the people before the situation takes a grim turn and degenerates into communal violence.
