Churachandpur, October 14 2017:
A three days skill training programme on “Rural backyard poultry production with improved germplasm”, under the aegis of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur head, Dr Narendra Prakash, concluded today .
The training programme was organised at the office training hall of KVK, Churachandpur and was conducted under the STC/TSP funded project of backyard poultry farming for sustainable livelihood in the district .
ACTO (A/Sc) and Course Coordinator of the programme, Dr L Babita Devi highlighted on the importance of using improved poultry germplasm in backyard condition for sustainable livelihood and income generation .
Lecture on 'Health care and management in poultry production' was also elaborated .
During the technical session, ACTO (A/Sc), KVK Churachandpur, Dr W Rajen delivered a lecture on 'Backyard poultry production' while SMS (A/Sc), KVK Chandel, Dr Ameeta stressed on the 'Role of nutrition in poultry' .
Poultry Scientist from ICAR, Manipur Centre, Dr Sonia spoke on 'Broiler and layer management' .
'Scientific housing and different housing designs for poultry' was also explained by SMS (A/Sc), KVK Ukhrul Dr Loken and SMS (A/Sc), KVK Tamenglong Dr Senorita spoke on 'Common diseases of poultry and their prevention' .
As a part of the training, expert �farmer interaction /group discussion was also held.
