Swachhta Pakhawada concludes with valedictory function

Senapati, October 14 2017:
The Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Athem Muivah, while speaking at the closing ceremony of the fortnight observation of Swachhta Pakhwada, said that cleanliness should be taken up not only during the observation but also throughout the life .
He encouraged all to motivate others as well as oneself in cleanliness and added that the habit of clean living should begin from home, schools and offices .
He announced that the district administration has decided to continue the cleanliness activities under which the 1st of every month, has been declared as cleanliness day, which will be observed in every schools, offices and homes and every where in the district .
It can also be mentioned that the district administration had already restricted the use of polythene lesser than 50 micron and also asked the shopkeepers to maintain dustbins in front of their respective shops .
Speaking as chief guest of the function, Naga People Organisation president T Khamba Moses stressed on the importance of physically and mentally involve in adopting a clean lifestyle .
Earlier, as a part of today’s function, a Swacchta Pakhwada road race was held from Karong and ended at the Senapati ground .
The race was flagged off by Autonomous District Council chairman , M L Markson .
Meanwhile, the Road race competition was topped by Rozii Dou, Rajesh Gurung and Krishna Gupta as 1st , 2nd and 3rd place respectively (for men’s category) .
While, D Mosoni Elizabeth bagged the first position for women category .
Prizes were also distributed for inter college debate competition, quiz competitions, essay writing, painting competition.
