Works Minister K Ranjit accompanied by Thangmeiband AC MLA and former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam and PDA Chairman Dr Kh Loken today went on an extensive inspection of ongoing development works at Khwairamband market areas.
While Radhabinod expressed satisfaction on progress of the ongoing works particularly those in Thangal Bazar area, K Ranjit interacting with media persons on the sideline of the inspection tour conveyed that construction work of Ima Keithel has resumed after a brief halt.
Recounting that Ministry of urban development has sanctioned Rs 41 crore and deposited the amount in the NBCC account, the Works Minister disclosed that Ima keithel construction work had to be put on hold as the construction agency (NBCC) could not complete tender processes.
Further informing that the task has been reassigned to the State PWD and tender process duly completed, the Minister exuded confidence of finishing the construction activities within a year and half's time.
On the otherhand, the PDA Chairman conveyed that under the funding of Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewable Mission relevant processes to commence development works in core area of Imphal city has been completed.
Insisting that project preparation with consultants of the Ministry of Urban Development is on the final stage, Dr Loken said once completed feasible projects would be forwarded to the Union Ministry so as to begin the Imphal city development programmes.
