The KCP (Military Council) has announced that it would be observing its Black Day tomorrow to mourn the assassination of its then leader Baji Leibakmacha and his followers on March 4 in 2007. In a statement, Lamjanba Khuman, Commander-in-chief of the outfit said that Baji Leibakmacha and 14 other cadres were killed after they were lured for unification talks on March 4 last year.
Apart from the revolutionary leader, the others eliminated were Promila, Bijoy, Deban, Sinsuba, Md Ujauddin, Faugi, Luwang, Sana, SP, Puthiba, Gandhi, L Tomba, Biren Pukchao and Somen, said the statement.
It is to mourn their deaths that the KCP (MC) has dubbed March 4 as Black Day, said Khuman and urged all to enxted their co-operation by suspending entertainment programmes for the day.
Apart from suspending entertainment programmes, the outfit also urged all not to attend Government offices as well as to cease work for the day.
However the restrictions will not cover essential services.
The outfit also asked the Electricity Department to cut off power from 6.30 pm to 7 pm tomorrow as a mark of respect to the departed souls and warned that if this is not heeded then it would strike out at all concerned.
