PFA Thoubal rescued an Indian Rock Python from the B-Block of Eastern Shine School, Moreh.
The Python was spotted by the school authorities yesterday when it was stuck in a pipe fitted to drain water from the campus.
People thronged at the place to have a glimpse of the python.
Moirangthem Somendro of Moreh Bazaar informed the PFA about the incident and saved the python before some onlookers tried to kill it for meat.
PFA immediately informed the Chief Wildlife Warden of Manipur and later staff of the Wildlife Wing with Somendro and his friends jointly released the rescued python back to a suitable site.
Python is neither a venomous snake nor they spread dreadful diseases.
Killing of python and wild animals is also a punishable offence, said PFA Thoubal press release.
