Condoling demises of two MPA cadres and a PREPAK member in an encounter with Indian security force personnel at Phoipi area of Henglep sub-division on June 20 the UNLF offered revolutionary salutes to the deceased.
Identifying the deceased MPA cadres as phijam Ahenba alias Sanahal s/o ph Bidur of Sekta Makha Leikai and Loitongbam Masel alias Kanhai s/o L Birachandra of Wangoo Chuthek Leikai, a press statement issued by the outfit�s senior publicity secretary Ksh Yoiheiba conveyed of one PREPAK cadre also slain in the gun-fight which lasted for over an hour at Thangji village, about 2.5 kms from Phoipi.
Recounting the skirmishes the statement claimed of1 slaying six security force personnel and over eight suffering grievous wounds during counter offensive launched by a joint team of PREPAK�s Red Army and UNLF�s MPA cadres.
The secretary alleging the security force personnel of shelling Thangji village with heavy artillery and indiscriminate firing at the populated village contended that the UGs diverted the army towards uninhabited area to repulse the attack.
