Nine organizations based at the frontier villages of both Ukhrul and Senapati districts informed that they will launch a stir against the State Govt�s deliberate act of failure to construct the linking road of Huimi-Kachai via Thiwa-Ngari road stretching 42 km which links the entire frontier villages of Ukhrul and Senapati districts, reports our correspondent.
The Social Workers Forum, the Students� Union and the various Headmen from the two districts said that any form of agitation will be started if the State Govt fails to respond within a week time.
A joint memorandum in this regard has been submitted to the Chief Minister on June 2, 2005 last stating that the Huimi-Kachai via Thiwa-Ngari (0-42km) road which is a border road of the two districts had been announced earlier as the first priority list by the State Govt right after the visit of the Prime Minister in the State on Nov 2004 last.
The PM during his visit promised a special package under NCMP of UPA Govt in the Centre for the improvement of road construction in the North-East regions.
And accordingly the concerned divisions in the districts submitted the project estimate of 7 crores but the State Govt.turned a deaf ear and the work remain undone till date said SK.
Timothy, president, Ukhrul District Social Workers Forum, S.Danii, chairman, Ngari Lishang village Senapati and L Willson, president, Ngari Lishang Students� Union Senapati district among the nine organizations.
