Temple heist cracked

Imphal, August 23 2020:
Porompat Police have cracked a heist that occurred at Govindaji Temple last night and arrested one 30-year-old suspect.
Within 24 hours of the theft, a team of police personnel led by Sub-Inspector N Gavaskar launched investigation and arrested the suspect identified as Ningthoujam Dipak, son of N Tombi of Khaidem Awang Leikai today.
He works as a garot at Govindaji Temple.
He allegedly tampered a donation box kept inside the temple complex.
Police found one knife used in the theft and recovered some coins from him.
He will be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East tomorrow, said source.
