The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has rejected the statements made by recently expelled MLA RK Imo as baseless.

Dwijamani further added that his integrity in the party as an office bearer for 20 years can't be put into question.
He pointed out that the allegations made by RK Imo were baseless as the expulsion by the party was done as per the rules and provisions of the constitution of Indian National Congress.
Apart from refuting all the charges made by RK Imo, Ningombam Bupenda Meitei defended CLP leader O Ibobi Singh and MPCC president M Okendro.
He stated that the two were in their respective positions because of the decision of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
He rejected the factually incorrect statements alleged by the expelled MLA against the CLP leader.
He asked how the expelled MLA concluded that there are only 15 Congress MLAs in the House at present.
Bupenda cited G Viswanathan judgment of the Su- preme Court to state that the expelled MLA can attract disqualification if the MLA joins another party or goes against the whip of the parent original party on which the MLA got elected.
He questioned how the expelled MLA concluded that there was a voting in the trust vote on August 10, when the Congress submitted a memorandum to Governor calling the trust vote illegal and inconclusive as the division of vote was not allowed in the House.
He asked the expelled MLA to state his position on the demand for transfer of Lhukhosei Zhou's drug case to CBI.
He questioned the expelled MLA's seriousness of combating COVID-19 in Manipur while he and the Chief Minister are in Delhi instead of being in the State.
Bupenda claimed that no true Congress man believed in dictatorship or arbitrariness.
He also came heavily on the expelled MLA for the latter's use of the words 'the so called leaders' in his press release issued on August 21 .
He highlighted the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in strengthening democracy and the party in the State and the country.
MPCC general secretary and convenor of the disciplinary action committee S Jiten was also present at the press meet.
