Imphal, July 10 2013:
The Naga Women's Union and the Rongmei Lu Phuam (RLP women organisation) have deplored the undue delay regarding the criminal case pertaining to rape of minor girls of Khoupum.
According to a joint press release issued by Naga Women's Union and RLP pointed out that the Court hearing fixed for March 4, March 11, May 19, June 5 and July 19 remained still at large without any concrete action.
It pointed out that the process of the case has been pending due to the failure of the authorities concerned to submit relevant documents especially ossification test.
Urging the Home department to take up speedy steps to submit related documents to determine the age of the accused to the Court, the joint statement warned that a public disturbance may arise if there is any further delay.
